Steering Committee
The VSI steering team is composed of faculty from the humanities, the sciences, the Duke administration, as well as representatives of the library system and the Duke Office of Information Technology (OIT). The inclusive composition of the committee facilitates efficient communication between constituencies that typically do not sit around the same table to pursue a common goal. This common goal, or operational matrix, is articulated in Duke UniversityĆs strategic plan, which guides us to implement the appropriate course of action in a timely and organized manner. The VSI steering team meets bi-weekly to evaluate growth and maintenance objectives. The overarching goal is to establish an efficient faculty driven, inter-departmental and cross-school planning and collaborative infrastructure for teaching and research in Visual Studies.
