Projects

Projects are an important component of connecting theory with practice of the visual. Projects require an individual to master some media, be that painting, sculpture, animation, or web 2.0 technologies.Definition:A visual studies project can be considered a scholarly work that requires visual media (i.e. photos, film, web, animation, databases, painting, sculpture) to communicate and/or study a concept. Projects can include doing economic studies in the 3D world second life, or analyzing the effectiveness and cultural bias of a medical visualization, or articulating the historical evolution of an ancient building.Sample ProjectsEach year, the Visual Studies Initiative supports up to five undergraduate research experiences.
