Can Second Life be used to replicate ethological, economic behavior? The idea is to replicate the elegant study by D.G.C. Harper in the early 1980ís that demonstrated rational economic behavior in ducks. Given a food dispersal of 1/3, 2/3 at either end of a lake, the ducks naturally separated into two groups of appropriate size to equalize the food per duck ratio. Can this experiment be replicated in humans using a virtual world?
